Mangrove Forest Rehabilitation on Aug 6, 2011
MHIT's executives and staff implemented mangrove planting at Klongkone Mangrove Preservation Center in Samutsongkram Province on Aug 6, 2011. The activity was aimed to rehabilitate mangrove forest.
Mangroves protect the coastline from erosion and storm surge. Overtime, mangrove roots can collect sediments to extend the edge of coastline further out. Mangroves also provide a safe haven and a nursery for variety of fishes, birds, crustaceans, shellfishes, and other animals.
